How much do you charge to ship your products?

Shipping rates are calculated by weight. A quick way to check how much it would cost to ship to your location is to start selecting the products you would like to purchase. After you add the first product, a floating cart (pop up) will appear. Click on 'Shipping Calculator.' Enter your city, zip code and shipping method, then click 'update.' You should see your shipping cost, and the system will continue to calculate the shipping as more products are added to your shopping cart.



How long does it take for orders to ship?

Orders are shipped within 1-2 business of receiving the order. If for any reason there is a delay, you will be notified.



What is Castor Oil?

Castor Oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seed of the castor bean (recinus communis). It has been used for centuries as a hair growth stimulant, to treat other hair problems such as thinning, breakage and also to enhance the texture and appearance of the hair.

The oil is also known as Palma Christi (Hands of Christ), perhaps because of the miraculous healing properties with which it was associated in ancient Egypt and Rome. Jamaican Black Castor Oil is a natural unrefined variety of the oil extracted from the Jamaican castor bean (“ oil nut”) by a traditional method which is believed to retain all the essential nutrients of the oil and is easily recognized by its distinctive black color and characteristic odor.

Olde Jamaica Castor Oil Products are proprietary formulations at the nexus of research and tradition. These products combine just enough castor oil with other natural carrier oils and essential oils which provides additional sources of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants while enhancing the effectiveness of the pure castor oil.



What are the benefits of using castor oil on the hair?

The benefits of using castor oil on the hair are as follows:

1. Regularly applying castor oil to your scalp and roots is known to eliminate dry hair and promote regrowth of hair within months;

2. It also helps to thicken thinning hair;

3. Helps reduce and prevent damage;

4. Also can camouflage the appearance of damage while improving the health of your hair;

5. You can also experiment with adding some castor oil to your conditioners for a deep conditioning treatment;

6. Castor oil works well to mend split ends. Over time ends becomes shiny and it helps to hide the appearance of frizzy, damaged, and split ends. After using castor oil on a consistent basis, your chances of developing split ends will decrease.



What is the difference between Castor Oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil?

The difference between 'castor oil' and 'black castor oil' is the method by which it is extracted. Can your products be used on Caucasian hair?

Our products can be used on all hair types. The only product that should be used sparingly on naturally straight hair types are the Jamaican black Castor Oil Pomade and the Herbal Gro Pomade. And this is only becasue pomades tend to be very thick and so it may weigh the hair down if too much is used. Let us know if you have any more questions.



Can your products be used on kids' hair? If so, at what age can I start using it on my child's hair?

Generally, our recommendation is age 12 or older; use your discretion.
